"Empowering Creativity: Personal Project for Personal and Community Growth"
As today’s MYP students mature, they will be increasingly called on to shape the world that they inhabit. To prepare students for this responsibility, middle level education must cultivate students’ motivation, agency and capacity for lifelong learning.
The personal project requires all 10th grade students to independently explore an area of personal interest, fostering inquiry, action, and reflection. This opportunity encourages them to strengthen their ATL skills by choosing a focus that motivates them, determining their approach, and creating their own success criteria. Ultimately, it enables students to produce a unique and creative product that reflects their learning in the MYP.
